Fun with author photos

I have an author photo, hurrah! It’s up on Amazon, and I will also show it here, along with my current bio. Both will likely change over time, but it’s fun to share what I have up right now.

Here’s the winning photo:

Here’s the bio I have up on Amazon:

J.S. Douglas is the author of the horror stories "Terror at Twll Du" and "Where There’s Smoke." She has had short stories of various genres published and mentioned in online publications and, most notably, Writers of the Future. She loves writing stories that feature ghosts, monsters, or both.

Julia lives in Portland, OR with her husband, small child, and elderly dog. She loves to garden, take far too many photos of her child and dog, spend time at the beach, and speculate about where she might find a ghost. She always has some sage around - just in case.

Since my husband took the photos, we have a few silly outtakes that I thought would be fun to share here. Here they are.

J.S. Douglas photoshoot. The author is posing for her daughter who also wanted to take her picture.

My daughter brought her camera to the blackberry patch and wanted me to pose for her, as well.

According to my husband, “This is the best one.”

My daughter told me to say “rawr” and pretend to be a cat.

There are a bunch more photos, but most are just the same photo with small shifts in position. I thought the above were the most fun to share.

After the photoshoot, we picked some delicious fresh blackberries from the bush behind me and went to play with our daughter.

I hope you are enjoying the summer as much as we are!
